โš ๏ธ This is an educational tool, not an official source. Cutoffs here are extracted from MCC's published Final Result PDFs (AIQ, Deemed, Central University and DNB seats, 2021โ€“2025). Extraction is automated and past closing ranks don't guarantee future ones. Before you decide anything, verify against mcc.nic.in and your state counseling authority. State-quota counseling isn't included yet.

How NEET PG Counseling Works

1. The Two Quota System

All India Quota (AIQ) โ€” 50% of government seats: Conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for all MD/MS/Diploma seats surrendered to the central pool by states, plus all seats in central institutes and deemed/private universities.

State Quota โ€” remaining 50% of government seats + state private seats: Conducted separately by each state's counseling authority (e.g. DGHS/DME of that state), with its own rules, reservation categories, and domicile requirements.

You can register for both AIQ and your home state's counseling at the same time โ€” they run on independent, overlapping timelines.

2. Typical Round Structure

  1. Round 1 โ€” First allotment based on choices, rank, and category. You must report and either join or exercise "float"/upgrade options as per that year's rules.
  2. Round 2 โ€” Candidates already allotted a seat can try to upgrade; new candidates can enter with fresh choices against vacant seats.
  3. Mop-Up Round โ€” For remaining vacancies after Round 2; typically the last MCC-conducted round for many quotas.
  4. Stray Vacancy Round โ€” Fills seats still vacant after Mop-Up, sometimes conducted on-the-spot or with compressed timelines. Rules on withdrawal/joining are usually stricter here.

Exact round names, count, and rules change year to year and differ between AIQ and individual states โ€” always check the current year's official information bulletin.

3. Choice Filling & Locking

  • List colleges/courses in genuine order of preference โ€” allotment is rank + choice driven, so listing a seat doesn't force you to take it if you rank higher on a preferred choice.
  • Some rounds require you to explicitly "lock" your choices before a deadline โ€” an unlocked list may be auto-locked by the system or may not be considered, depending on that year's rule.
  • Research course + college together โ€” a "good college, weak department" or vice versa can matter more than brand name for your specialty.

4. Reporting & Joining

  • After allotment, you typically report to the allotted college (or do online reporting, depending on quota/state) within a fixed window, with fee payment and document verification.
  • Failing to report/join without valid upgradation intent can lead to seat forfeiture and, in many states, a period of debarment from future counseling โ€” check current penalty rules.
  • If you intend to try for an upgrade in a later round, you generally must still join and pay initial dues for your current allotment to keep that seat safe while you wait.

5. Documents Usually Required

  • NEET PG admit card & rank letter
  • MBBS/BDS degree certificate & mark sheets
  • Internship completion certificate (or expected date proof)
  • Permanent/provisional medical registration certificate
  • Category certificate (OBC-NCL / SC / ST / EWS / PwD) valid for the counseling year
  • Domicile certificate (for state quota)
  • Valid photo ID, passport-size photographs, counseling fee receipt

Requirements vary by state and quota โ€” always follow the exact checklist in that year's information bulletin.

Rank Predictor Real MCC data

Shows every seat (institute + course + quota) where, in the selected year, a candidate with a rank worse than yours was allotted in some round, based on . You're matched against Open seats plus your own category's reserved seats, and PwD seats if you're PwD. Each round column is that round's closing rank, the last rank allotted there. Green means your rank was within it.

Cutoff Explorer

Query the full closing-rank table. Each row is one year, round, institute, course, quota, category and PwD combination. The whole normalized database (every individual allotment) is also available as SQLite: data/neet_pg.sqlite.

Reservation & Eligibility Calculator

Get a plain-language readout of the reservation rules that typically apply to you under All India Quota. AIQ reservation percentages are fixed by Government of India policy; state quota reservation varies by state, so treat those figures as illustrative only.
